[Norsk versjon] [Home|Nova] Electronic cameras equipped with a Charge Coupled Device (CCD) for imaging made a revolution for the professional astronomers almost two decades ago. About half a decade ago the revolution reached the amateur astronomers. Today, we are overwhelmed with amateur images that only could be taken with the largest telescopes in the world half a century ago. NOVA is currently equipped with two CCD cameras, an ST-4 and an ST-7 from Santa Barbara Instrument Group (SBIG). Using these cameras, the CCD group carries out various observational projects like imaging deep-sky objects, following the development of comets, measuring variable star light curves and astrometry.
