• DSE has a library with books, magazines, slides, videos and computer programs available (see library contents). Members can borrow library material for up to four weeks by contacting the librarian, either by sending an e-mail to biblioteket@dse.no or sending a letter to the society address (see membership page).

• Members of Type 1 receives the newsletter Nyhetsbrev fra NOVA (Newsletter from NOVA). The newsletter is intended for the active observer bringing tips of what to observe when and hot news. It is published about bimonthly. An extract of the newsletter can be found on the celestial news page.
