[Norsk versjon] [Home|Nova] Group for Astrophotography Astrophotography was the first invention that was able to store the light collected by a telescope. Obviously, this resulted in an astronomical revolution. Even if we are well into the CCD revolution, astrophotography still plays an important role. Only photographic film is able to capture an image of a large field with very high resolution. This means that many phenomena and objects can only be covered well by the use of photographic film. The astrophoto group carries out various projects, from covering comets passing by to testing new photographic films on the market. NOVA has basic darkroom equipment and a film forming-gas vacuum chamber. SLR cameras can be mounted to all the telescopes. Guiding may be done automatically by a ST-4 autoguider on some of the telescopes. Other information:
