Observational activities are going on continuously in the working groups and individually, however, we also arrange dedicated meetings with a written invitation to all members and with an observational programme. These meetings are in particular intended to bring the most active observers and the occasional observers together for an expiring event under a dark sky. The sky parties are usually located at NOVA in the dark, inner part of the Vestfold county.

Typical activities at a star party:

  • Visual observations of the Moon, the planets, comets, variable stars and deep-sky objects
  • Astrophotographic experiments where experienced amateurs help new-comers
  • Making celestial objects digital by a CCD imaging
